Orange Sky 08:18
We have sailed the orange sky. We have scaled the solar wind. We have bled the summer dry— Held the means but sought no end. We have named forbidden names. We have uttered the untold. These were our immortal games— Played for glory, not for gold. We have fallen for the ground. We have reckoned with the dead. But when the tables turned around, No words remained that need be said.
2.
Trouble 07:27
Under cover of rain In the whites of the skies Say it loud, say it plain Before everything dies In the absence of light Even memory steals Steals away into night Upon vertigo wheels 'Neath the skeleton trees Into shadows we spin That’s the moment we know The trouble we’re in In the blue plasma flash With your cheeks powdered pale Ride the thunderbolt crash With the wind for a veil When we stand in the clear With electrified skin That’s the moment we know The trouble we’re in
3.
Kozmik Eye 15:15
Blood moon like a ruby shining; bright wing of a white bird flying. Cold Wind, she will tell you nothing; red stars, they will send you searching. A dream like a violet window; a place where the light is shadow. Blood moon like a ruby shining; bright wing of the night bird flying. I am the eye eternal: one, watching from all directions. I know like a perfect mirror— no sight; myriad reflections.

I walked across the field Just as the moon shone down It touched my face I was on my knees And everything was blue Then the clouds came in And the thunder crashed And a big black dog in the sky With teeth like glass... I don't know Where to go The world just seems so strange to me Get me out of here Get me out of here This is not my world...

about

“One of THE very best Gong family related albums of the past two years. Special guests Steffe and Graham Clark. Gob-smackingly good.” —Jonny Greene (GAS)

The Cary Grace Band performs a live set at Kozfest 2016, joined by special guests and past collaborators Steffe Sharpstrings (Here & Now, Planet Gong) on guitar, and Graham Clark (Gong, Magick Brothers) on electric violin.

The album features some reinterpretations of tracks from previous albums, such as “Orange Sky” (Tygerland), “Kozmik Eye” (a variation on “Eye” from Projections), “Cassiopeia, 2016” (a new take on “Cassiopeia, 1572” from the double album Perpetual Motion), as well as a wealth of completely new improvised material.

The Uffculme Variations was released on October 31st, 2016, both as a mini-LP style CD in a gatefold sleeve, and as a download, available from all major digital music retailers.
